Dominica's Citizenship by Investment Programme has been operational since 1993, making it one of the longest-running and most reputable programmes in the Caribbean.
The Commonwealth of Dominica's Citizenship by Investment Programme has been operational since 1993, making it one of the longest-running CBI programmes in the world. Dominica's passport provides access to approximately 145 countries visa-free, including the Schengen zone and the United Kingdom. The programme is fully managed by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) of the Government of Dominica.
Applicants choose between two pathways — both grant full citizenship without residency requirements:
Regardless of option: Due Diligence ($7,500 main applicant; $4,000 per dependent 16+), Processing ($1,000), mandatory interview for all applicants/dependents 16+, Naturalization Certificate ($500/person).
Processing takes approximately 6–9 months from submission of a complete application. No minimum stay in Dominica is required at any point.
Best suited for individuals and families seeking an affordable Caribbean CBI with strong Schengen and UK visa-free access. Good for those who prioritise cost efficiency over passport strength. Not suitable if US visa-free travel is a primary goal (Dominica passport requires a US visa).
